HYUNDAI SANTA FE - 2014 NEW HYUNDAI CAR

Santa Fe returns a mileage of 14.74kmpl for the MT and 13.01kmpl for AT.

Santa Fe’s ride quality is compliant and surprisingly supple going by the SUV standards. Road, tyre and wind noise have been kept to a pleasingly low level. 

The 2.2-litre CRDi unit is Hyundai’s ‘R’ series engine, hence NVH levels are lower than the previous model. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed auto gearbox. Manual variant offers 420Nm of max torque while the automatic gets around 16Nm more, both between 1800-2500rpm.

Hyundai has launched the new Dynamic Santa Fe at the Auto Expo starting from Rs. 2,630,000 for the 2WD M/T to Rs. 2,925,000 for the 4WD A/T. While it’s not easy to beat very stiff competition from cheaper alternatives such as Toyota Fortuner and Audi Q3, the hefty price tag can be justified by gorgeous exterior design, nicely crafted spacious interior and the long list of equipment.

Samsung Galaxy Core Advance is now available in India. An Indian e-retailer is offering the phone for Rs 17,000 though Samsung has not yet officially launched it in the country. Also note that the retailer is offering it with manufacturer's warranty so it is not an imported version. 

The Samsung Galaxy Core Advance comes with a 4.7 inch TFT LCD capacitive touchscreen but with only 800x480 pixels resolution.

Nokia X - Upcoming Mobile Nokia X cost under Rs 10,000 for India

Nokia X with Android OS coming on Feb 24, 2014

The Nokia X is expected to feature a 4-inch touchscreen display with 480x800 pixel resolution.

Nokia plans to launch its first Android based smartphone on February 24, according to a report of The Wall Street Journal. 

This is however not the first time that reports of a Nokia Android phone has surfaced. 

The Mobile Indian had earlier also reported about the Nokia X with Android operating system.

The Nokia X is expected to feature a 4-inch touchscreen display with 480x800 pixel resolution. 

Its design would be a simple marriage of the Nokia Asha and Nokia Lumia series models. 

Reports also suggest that the smartphone would be powered by quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor and 512 MB RAM. The Nokia X will be offered in dual-SIM and is expected to be priced under Rs 10,000 for India.

Chevrolet launches Beat face lift at Rs 4.06 lakh

General Motors launched a face-lifted version of the Beat hatchback at the 2014 Auto Expo. The price ranges from Rs 4.06 lakh to Rs 6.1 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). 

First launched in 2010, the Beat is currently available in 1.2 litre petrol and 1.0 litre diesel variants.

The new Beat, however, gets very minor changes including a new bumper, dual port chrome grille and roof spoiler. The interior has a new centre console with better storage solutions, and a different colour theme. 

The car also gets steering mounted audio controls for the first time. Powering the new Beat are the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.0 litre diesel engines. These motors have max power figures of 85bhp and 59bhp respectively.

Bajaj Auto has unveiled two new scintillating bikes - Pulsar CS400, Pulsar SS 400 - at the 2014 Auto Expo. While enthusiasts were expecting a jazzed-up version of the 200NS, the company gave them a surprise of a lifetime with these two exciting models, with the larger 375cc engines. Bajaj hasn't divulged much details on the two models, however, all we know is that both of them are already pulling crowd to the Bajaj stall, thanks to their amazing design.

Hero MotorCorp showcased their new product, the diesel powered RNT bike, at the Auto Expo. The RNT might not be the best thing to look at, but it boasts of path-breaking technology. Powered by a 150cc turbocharged diesel engine that makes 13.5PS and 35Nm of torque, RNT is also aided by a 1KW motor mounted to the front wheel giving it two-wheel drive. Although the official mileage figure is not revealed yet, a hybrid diesel engine is sure to return a figure of more than 100kmpl
