Gionee Elife S5
It is just 5.6 mm thin. This is almost 50 per cent thinner
than Samsung Galaxy S 5. Its side panels are made of metal and the rest of the
body is made of glass and it looks quite stunning
At the launch of Gionee Elife S5.5 we spent some time with
the device and here is our first impression about the device. The first thing
you will notice about Elife S 5.5 is its waistline
I really enjoyed the slimness of the phone and the price
seems to be just right. The way Elife S5.5 has been designed it looks stunning
and it gives me a feeling that not all Chinese product are of inferior quality
and the only thing that needs to be put under test is its performance and
battery life before we can clearly say whether this device is worth buying or
not
Gionee Elife S5.5 has a 13-megapixel rear camera and a
5-megapixel front camera. The main camera also supports 1080p video recording.
The picture quality of both the cameras was good and we will talk more about
the camera in our detailed review
The Gionee Elife S5.5 sports an octa-core MediaTek MT6592
chip running at 1.7GHz supported by 2GB RAM. While browsing the phone I felt
slight lag and it may be due to a software issue. In terms of memory, the Elife
S5.5 has 16 GB built in and their option to expand it further using a microSD
card.
As far as operating system is concerned Elife S5.5 is
shipping with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and has a customised user interface on top
of it which looks similar iOS. There is no update regarding when it will get
Android KitKat update.
On the display front, Elife S5.5 features a 5-inch 1080 x
1920-pixel Super AMOLED display. The picture quality was good and I didn't see
any pixilation and viewing at different angles was not angle
