iPhone 6

I-PHONE 6

The latest report of an iPhone 6 launch date follows earlier reports of Apple blocking retail store staff from taking holidays during the month of September due to the high level of interest in Apple's next-generation iPhone.

The leaked information was first reported by the German publication ApfelPage, which learned about the country's main mobile operator trying to woo customers whose contracts are on the verge of expiry, by leaking the iPhone 6 launch details.

Though Apple has not made any official announcement or revealed any hints about the iPhone 6 release date, a lot of factors indicate that the next iPhone will go on sale on 19 September.

This date is in line with the release patterns of Apple's last three iPhones: iPhone 5 (21 September), iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c (20 September).

It should also be noted that Apple typically favours Friday release dates for iPhones and iPad, and it just so happens that 19 September is also a Friday.

According to ApfelPage (Google translated), the iPhone 6 will be available with Apple Stores as well as Deutsche Telekom on the same day, 19 September, given the fact that Germany is usually among the first batch of markets alongside the US, Australia, Canada, China, France, Japan, Singapore and the UK to receive new iOS devices.

If the recent iOS release schedule strategy is any indication, we can expect Apple to unveil its highly-anticipated iOS 8 software featuring healthbook and fitness apps at its high-profile Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC 2014) from 2 June to 6 June in San Francisco.
